Study Group of the Vital Sensation Method – GEMS (the French acronym for Groupe d’Étude de la Méthode de la Sensation Vitale)

GEMS is a study group dedicated to the clinical practice of homeopathy using the Vital Sensation method.

Our meetings take place quarterly and consist primarily of case-taking by Karim Adal (via videoconference) of patients followed by other homeopaths, who are showing limited progress but are committed to a homeopathic approach to their illness. On rare occasions “paper cases” are analyzed together.

In the Vital Sensation method, case-taking is particularly important. In order to reach a higher level of experience and allow the Other Song of the patient to manifest itself, various case-taking techniques have to be used, depending on the situation and the level of experience of each patient.

After the case-taking, an interactive discussion guided by Karim allows all participants to ask questions and give their opinion on the case or on particular case-taking techniques. We take the time to analyze the case in-depth, discuss the red thread that runs through the case and propose a corresponding remedy. This discussion obviously involves a discussion of kingdoms, sub-kingdoms, families, miasms and specific remedies, along with a differential of potential remedies.

Follow-ups of the patients are given as verbal updates or in a live way depending on the case, in order to illustrate techniques used in follow-up consultations that allow deepening the understanding of the case for a second prescription if need be.

 Dr. Karim Adal has spent over 20 years in the USA, where he studied medicine and practiced in a hospital setting as an infectious diseases specialist. His experiences there were a turning point in his life and led him to study homeopathy at the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy in Minnesota. He joined the practice of the academy's teachers for a few years, then returned to Europe and opened his practice in Geneva.

He became interested in the Vital Sensation method in 2002 and became passionate for this approach which allows us to go to greater depths in search of this “non-human” energy that resides in all of us and is the source of our energy imbalance.

He studied intensively with Dr. Jayesh Shah for many years. This helped him develop the patience and perseverance that are prerequisites for the practice of this method.

He teaches the sensation method at the school HomeoVitalis in Belgium and has contributed to the spread of the Vital Sensation method in the French-speaking world.
